Her research focuses on the health of young Black girls addressing adultification, the intersection of racism and sexism, and underlying health disparities. Her career vision is to realize a better world for all youth through advocating for equitable policies, and fostering positive youth development. Dr. Brissett earned her Doctor of Medicine degree and pediatric residency training at the University of California, San Francisco where she was chosen for the Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved program and the Program in Medical Education for the Urban Underserved, respectively. Daniela Brissett, MD is a fellow at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the Division of Adolescent Medicine. Her research focuses on the health of young Black girls addressing adultification, the intersection of racism and sexism, and underlying health disparities.
