Jessica Martucci obtained her PhD in the History & Sociology of Science at UPenn in 2011. Since then, she has been an Assistant Professor of History at Mississippi State University. Her first book, Back to the Breast: Natural Motherhood and Breastfeeding in America (U. Chicago Press) will be published soon. She also has book projects under way related to the influence of Catholic physicians and patients on women’s health policy and practice, and on the history and sociology of conceptions of “naturalness” in American life. Her primary interests lie at the intersection of history and policy related to women’s and LGBT health.
