The Master of Science in Medical Ethics requires 14 course units (CUs), including 4 courses in empirical methods, 4 units of mentored research, 4 required courses in specific content-areas of bioethics (i.e., clinical ethics, rationing, conceptual foundations of bioethics, and research ethics) and 2 elective bioethics courses. These courses must be chosen in conversation with the student’s assigned mentor. Students may also take elective bioethics courses from other Departments and Schools across the University, subject to approval from the student’s mentor.
